"For the word of God and for the testimony of Jesus Christ."
~ The Revelation of Jesus Christ 1:9 (NKJV)
My heart's desire is to glorify and enjoy God through both knowing and making Him known. The Father granted me faith in His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, in September of 1997. Several months later, I came to understand that my beloved Lord and Savior Jesus Christ placed HIs divine calling upon me to serve Him within the context of the local church. I was not exactly sure where or in what capacity He was calling me to serve Him but the one thing I did know was that He was calling me to make Him known to others.
The verse of Scripture that continually came to mind prior to answering His call was John 10:27. Day and night that verse of Sacred Scripture came to mind. Each and every day I could not help but to think about that verse of Holy Scripture. For three months I struggled with answering the Lord's divine calling on my life. During that period of time, day and night, I could not help but to recall John 10:27.
"My Sheep hear My voice, I know them, and they follow Me."
~ John 10:27 (NKJV)
Something interesting occurred the moment I answered the Lord's call. The moment I answered the Lord's call, vowing to serve Him all the days of my life in the capacity in which He was calling me to serve, John 10:27 ceased coming to mind as it did before - 24/7.
In 2008, the Lord closed the door on my more than 24 year commercial banking career while at the same time opening the door to my first pastorate. In October of 2008, Faith Bible Presbyterian Church called me to serve in the pastorate. Several months later, June 14th of 2009, I was officially ordained and installed as the Lord's minister/or pastor of Faith Bible Presbyterian Church - replacing the founding pastor who faithfully served for just over 42 years.
My desire for Echoes of Faith is to be a profitable extension of the gospel ministry the Lord Jesus Christ has so graciously entrusted to me. My hope and prayer is that many will become aquatinted with this site and as a result be encouraged and equipped to fulfill their chief end in life, which is to glorify God and to enjoy Him forever (Isa. 43:7; 1 Cor. 10:31).
